Hello. I'm a 31 yr old single mom of a beautiful nine yr old girl. I am very interested in opening an ecommerce business but just do not have the captital to start it; as far as the inventory. Are there any grants/funding, etc available to people like me?

Would it be possible to start your ecommerce business without having a lot of inventory in the beginning? The only real things that you need to start an ecommerce business is a website and a way for people to pay you. You can get a free website from many different places online and as far as accepting payment you can use what the majority of people use and that is paypal. As far as grants go for starting an ecommerce site it will have to depend on the nature of your site. You're not going to get grant money to start an ecommerce site and then just keep the money that you make all to yourself. However there are grant programs of an entrepreneurial type where you can apply to start a business that includes an ecommerce site but you have to have a compelling reason in order to be able to include that kind of site.
